The advantage of polarized light is that it can penetrate the skin to a depth of 5 cm, reaching deeper tissues.

The  special ultraviolet light to scan the subdermal layer of the skin for concentrated areas of melanin. UV spots cannot be detected with the naked eye. Skin texture in PL spectral image: displays current skin texture, predicts future pattern and condition of wrinkles.
